Luxury Wellness in Carinthia, where you’ll be part of the family.

Located in a small village called Bad Kleinkirchheim in the Austrian region Carinthia, this thermal hotel truly offers recreation for all senses. We had the pleasure to stay there for a weekend – a weekend we really enjoyed.It’s a place where service and making the guests feel comfortable is the main concern of the hosts, Simone and Markus Ronacher. Our experience started by a selection of delicious food waiting for us in our very generous sized hotel room. We arrived really late on a friday evening so that was exactly what we needed.

For the next days we explored the vast spa area. The hotel’s philosophy is to provide every guest with his individual recreational needs. Sides from a huge variety of spa treatments you can enjoy all different kinds of saunas, the relax oasis, five thermal pools, massages and beauty packages. For the more romantic kind of stays there’s also the possibility to rent your own little spa for you and your loved one. One thing you should also keep in mind: Bad Kleinkirchheim is located in a very beautiful area, so you might want to bring your sports clothes or hiking gear.

We stayed there at the end of November and just as in a very kitschy romantic novel it started to snow. We were floating around in the warm jacuzzi outside while big snowflakes fell and transformed the surroundings of the hotel into something magical. There was also a Christmas Market set up in front of the hotel. Mulled wine, live music, the scent of inscense and candles made the evening perfect.

Speaking of perfect: We have to mention the food as well. Whatever you might want for breakfast: It’s served there. The fresh produce is delivered by local farmers, everything is home-made at the hotel, even their signature crackers. When you’re there, make sure to try the poppyseed butter (and make sure to check your teeth afterwards ;)). For dinner we had a multiple-course meal; it was so awesome we still talk about it.

But sides from all the nice stuff on the surface, there’s also the people there adding to the impression that you’re staying at your extended family. Everyone is supernice and trying to make your stay something you’ll never forget. Every day we found a note in our room, alongside with handmade pralines, handwritten by Simone Ronacher, wishing us an awesome day. The janitors even cleaned the windows of our car the day before we left – one of the Ronacher’s thoughtful little gestures that make you feel comfortable and are heart-warming. If you ever get the chance to go to Carinthia, make sure to take some relaxing time at the Ronacher’s. It’s well wort ever Euro, we’ll be back soon. Promise.
