Very stylish.
Some time ago I got all into luxury-mood and therefore went to London’s Bulgari hotel, in which you can find the extraordinary Bulgari Spa. Is it worth paying about 240 Euros (270 USD) for a 90 minutes back, face and scalp treatment? I would say it’s even a bargain. And here is why.
The London Bulgari Hotel is the third hotel worldwide that belongs to the luxury brand, best known for jewellery. It is located in the heart of London’s Knightbridge, a posh and wealthy neighborhood; the world famous Harrods is only around the corner, as is Hyde Park. So, there’s the amazing hotel location. The spa is open for a limited number of members, special guests who booked in advance and hotel guests. That’s why there’s a very tranquil atmosphere in the spa area.
Speaking of the area: It is located five levels beneath ground floor, taking up two levels. You’ve got a pool with cabanas, a plunge pool, saunas, steam baths, a gym and of course treatment rooms. The spa area is styled in the same typical Bulgary design like the rest of the hotel: everything is grey, white and brown. I prefer that to this all too bright yellowy walls of these typical lower budget hotel spas, to be honest. The whole changing area is so cozy, I considered living just there. Huge rain showers, perfectly lit mirrors, hair-dryer and every neccessity you can imagine; from Q-tips to nailpolish remover, including – of course – Bulgari products for showering and washing your hair. And you’re provided with the plushiest bathrobe you’ll ever wear.
What I thought was a bit annoying was the girl in the lobby of the hotel. After I arrived I inquired there where to go; obviously I was not wearing designer stuff or anything fancy, so what I got as a first reply was a wrinkled eyebrow. She stayed cold till we arrived at the spa area, where I had to wait a bit because my booking was mixed up. Not too cool, but hey – small things, right?
The treatment I got was the before mentioned back, face and scalp treatment. My therapist was a young girl who was super nice, I really liked her not esoterical approach to it all. It was a hands-on treatment and I could relax, once I was done trying to convince myself that wellness is more important than money. After the treatment I got to rest a bit, then enjoyed my shower in this fancy place. My go-to spa in London will always be the Lush Spa at Oxford Street, as it’s just the cooler and a bit cheaper alternative. But if you feel like a whole day spa-experience, you should definitely check out the pool at the Bulgari, their treatments and saunas.

Whoa, fancy place. But I guess reasonable spa-prices if you consider the brand and the area where it is located.
