Okay, here’s another one about food. Maybe I am a foodie, but who is to blame me? Food is great. Well, not in general, but there are some hidden gems out there waiting for you to be discovered. One of those restaurants is Big Tex Bar-B-Que in Willcox, Arizona. It’s the perfect spot if you’re hungry and exhausted after a visit to the Chiricahua Mountains (which is a perfect hiking area in Southern Arizona). So after I had a wonderful day out with my American friends, they took me to this lovely place. You can’t really miss it, as Willcox is rather small and the restaurant’s exterior is kind of outstanding. Because if you eat at the Big Tex Bar-B-Que, you eat in an old railway wagon.
Granted, it might not seem that spacious from the outside, but once you’re there, you find plenty of room for at least 40 people, and there’s also the possibility to sit outside. I really liked the decoration of the wagon and as it’s a restaurant that serves typical American food you can rest assured that you won’t leave hungry. The menu is a nice mixture of barbecue classics, such as ribs and American classics like burgers. Of course there’s coleslaw, you get amazing steak fries, onion rings, wings, sandwiches and so on. Trust me, you won’t be able to decide. I had the California Burger and enjoyed every bite of it. The service was amazing too. Simply worth a visit!
